Buttons and lists

One line of text sends a message with buttons or a pick list. Write it in the GoHighLevel message: in Conversations, a workflow or a bulk send.

The rules

• Parts are separated by |, a button's fields by *, list items by /.
• A field you do not want is written undefined, never left empty.
• 1 to 10 buttons per message.
• Images, videos and documents only from https:// links.
• If the line has a mistake (a required field missing, an unknown type, too many buttons) it goes out as plain text, as written.
• {Hi|Hello} picks one variant at random on each send (in texts, not in ids and links).

• The description is required; title, footer and button text are optional.
• Without a button text, the button reads "View Options".
• Items with the same section name go into the same section, in any order.

What the customer sees

• Up to 3 quick replies: buttons under the message, with an image or video too.
• More than 3 quick replies without media: they become a list with the same items.
• With a site, call, copy or WhatsApp call button: a button message. In this case, on iPhone, quick replies in the same message may stay grey: if you need them, send them in a separate message.

What arrives in GoHighLevel

• When the customer taps a quick reply or a list item, GoHighLevel gets a message with the button's text (for example "Confirm"). The conversation reads naturally and workflow "contains" triggers work.
• Site, call, copy and WhatsApp call buttons send no reply.
• In the GoHighLevel conversation your message stays as the line you wrote (#btn|...).

In groups

WhatsApp shows no buttons in groups. A group gets readable text, never the #btn|... line: the message text and numbered choices, for example 1) Confirm, 2) Visit site: https://example.com. With media, the media goes with that text as its caption. Members reply by typing.
