WhatsApp groups
You decide which WhatsApp groups of your numbers reach GoHighLevel. The others stay on WhatsApp only.
Turn groups on
- In the panel open Settings, section WhatsApp groups.
- In Linked groups pick one of the three options.
| Option | What happens |
|---|---|
| None | Group messages stay on WhatsApp: they do not reach GoHighLevel or your webhooks, and you cannot write to groups from GoHighLevel. This is the starting choice for new accounts. |
| All groups | Every group of your numbers becomes a conversation in GoHighLevel, and you can reply from there. |
| Only the ones I pick | Only the groups you switch on in the list. A group appears in the list after the number is linked or when it gets a message. |
Only an admin can change this. It applies to every number of the account.
How a group shows in GoHighLevel
- Each group is a contact with the group's name.
- The contact appears with the first message in the group after you turned it on.
- Each message's text says who wrote it.
Write to a group
- In GoHighLevel open the contact with the group's name (or its conversation).
- Write the message as you would to any contact. Every group member gets it.
If the group is not in GoHighLevel yet, wait for a message in the group.
Good to know
- You cannot write to a group that is off: the message is marked failed with "group not linked".
- We do not save messages of groups that are off, old ones included.
- In groups, buttons go as text with numbered choices (see Buttons and lists).
