Link a number
Each WhatsApp number is linked once, like a WhatsApp Web device. Use the QR code or a pairing code.
Before you start
- Only an admin can add a number. Each number takes one slot of the plan (see Plan and billing).
- In Numbers tap Add Number, then open the number and go to Connect.
- If you are asked for a country, pick the phone's country: each number goes out from its own fixed IP address in that country.
- If you see a message saying the connection is being prepared, wait: the QR code shows up by itself, usually within a couple of minutes.
With the QR code (recommended)
- Open WhatsApp on your phone.
- Tap Menu or Settings.
- Tap Linked devices, then Link a device.
- Point the phone at the QR code in the panel.
- Keep the phone close until the number shows Connected.
The QR code is short-lived. If it expires, tap Get a new QR code and scan it within a couple of minutes.
With a pairing code
Useful when you cannot scan the screen, for example when the panel is open on the same phone as WhatsApp.
- In the panel choose Phone number.
- Type the number with the country code, for example
+39for Italy, and tap Get pairing code. - On the phone open WhatsApp, then Linked devices and Link a device.
- Tap Link with phone number instead and type the code shown in the panel. The code expires after a few minutes.
After linking
- The number shows Connected: it is ready, nothing else to do.
- On the first link WhatsApp sends the old messages. Wappuccino saves them (the panel shows how many), but does not copy them into GoHighLevel conversations and leaves them out of your statistics.
- Use WhatsApp on the phone now and then: if the phone stays off for a long time, WhatsApp can unlink its linked devices.
Number statuses
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Connected | Working: sends and receives. |
| Ready to connect | The number exists but is not linked to WhatsApp yet. |
| Pending scan | The QR or pairing code is ready and waiting for the phone. |
| Paused | The number does not send. Open it to see why, then resume or reconnect it. |
| Disconnected | WhatsApp closed the session (for example from the phone). Reconnect it with a new QR code. |
| Error | Connection unavailable or number restricted by WhatsApp. See FAQ. |
Manage a number
Open the number and go to Manage:
- Name: the name shown in the panel. Empty = back to "WhatsApp #N".
- Users: the GoHighLevel users tied to this number (see Choosing the number).
- Proxy location: changing country gives the number a new IP and reconnects it.
- The anti-ban brakes (see Warm-up and limits).
- Restart connection: reopens the session without unlinking the phone.
From the number's menu (three dots) an admin can:
- Disconnect: the number stops sending and receiving until you link it again. Conversations already in GoHighLevel stay.
- Remove Number: the number is unlinked and taken off the account, and its slot is freed. This cannot be undone.
To disconnect or remove, you type the number's name to confirm.
